Costa Brava, translating to Rugged Coast, is the miraculous coastline making up the northern part of Catalonia in Spain. Indeed this coast is rough, rugged, and wild — living up to its name quite well. However, it’s also a coast full of cacti and other succulents, gorgeous quaint beaches and plenty of caves for exploring, too. One of the best ways to experience Costa Brava, of course, is by hiking it. Hiking from Blanes to Tossa de Mar is a must-do as it boasts all of these beauties into a one day hike.

Hiking Blanes to Tossa de Mar ~ 18 miles, roughly 6–7 hours with stops.

This gorgeous hike will initially navigate you out of the hills of Blanes through the rocky coast. As you make your way through to Tossa, you’ll stumble upon exquisite views of the turquoise-colored Mediterranean Sea with the rugged backdrop of Costa Brava. The water is so clear that you can see to the bottom of the sea; it’s gorgeous, to say the least. We mainly referred to Wikiloc to figure out where the trail began. Check out the map here.

You’ll follow the red and white lines of the GR-92 international trail system pictured above…
